As young adults, you are beginning to be aware of activities you really enjoy and those that are not so favorable. For this first writing assignment, I would like to get to know each of you better by finding out what interests you most. Tell me about your favorite pastime, why you enjoy that particular activity, how you became interested in it, and some specifics about it. For example, one of my favorite pastimes is reading, so I would discuss the types of books I like to read, give you insight on how I would sneak my sister's book from her while she was asleep because she didn't want me to finish reading her books before she did, how my taste in books have changed over the years, and of course give information about my favorite book.
I want you to have fun with this assignment. It's okay to be humorous; be yourself. This assignment is a great opener to allow us all to get to know each other better.
Remember to be mindful of the guidelines for posting on the classroom blog that were discussed in class.

- I am a native of Chicago, Il, but I must admit that after being in the South sixteen years, I have fallen in love with the slow paced, easy-going manner of life here. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army, where I served for twelve years. Teaching is my second career.
